JAKARTA - Chairman of the Honorary Court of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia Nazaruddin Dek Gam confirmed that there was no violation of procedures in the re-appointment of Ahmad Sahroni as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. According to him, all stages have been carried out in accordance with the applicable decisions.
Nazaruddin explained that Ahmad Sahroni had completed the period of sanctions imposed, so he was entitled to return to carrying out his duties as the head of the commission. "The whole process is in accordance with the existing decision," said Nazaruddin in Jakarta, Sunday.
He explained that Sahroni was first deactivated by the NasDem Party on August 31, 2025. Furthermore, the MKD also imposed a non-active sanction on November 5, 2025 with a validity of six months, starting from the deactivation by the party.
"Referring to the ruling, the period of sanctions against Ahmad Sahroni has ended. If you follow the ruling of the Constitutional Court, the sanctions will end on March 5, 2026," said Nazaruddin.
In addition, the reappointment of Sahroni as the head of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives was carried out based on the official proposal of the NasDem Party on February 19, 2026. Nazaruddin ensured that the proposal mechanism to the appointment had been in accordance with the MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD (MD3) Law, as well as the DPR RI Regulations and Rules of Procedure.
"The proposal from the NasDem Party is effective as of March 10, 2026, because the DPR RI enters a recess period from February 19 to March 10, 2026," he concluded.
