4 Village Connecting Roads in Bener Meriah Aceh Still Cannot Be Accessed by Vehicles after the Sumatra Disaster
JAKARTA - Access to Pantan Kemuning Village, Pintu Rimba Hamlet, Timang District, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh, cannot be passed by four-wheel vehicles.
The road connecting four villages in Bener Meriah Regency has not yet been accessed due to the impact of the Sumatra disaster and frequent landslides due to high rainfall.
"Today we dare to say that all the access to sub-districts, villages, we have been able to penetrate even though it may be with limited access. However, we continue to improve all access. Well today we have entered the plantation access, because indeed the peak of the harvest season is also happening for coffee harvest," said Bener Meriah Regency Regional Secretary, Riswandika Putra to Antara, Saturday quoted by Antara.
Without normal access, a number of residents are still in the evacuation post.
A total of 110 residents from 33 families are still at the post and it is hoped that on Monday they can be transferred to temporary housing (huntara).
"My hope is to be able to build a house again. It can be like it was before," a survivor of the Sumatra disaster who was relocated from Pantan Kemuning Village, Hasafah, told reporters separately.
Currently, a total of 914 huntara spread across 35 locations in Bener Meriah have been in the completion phase with a work percentage of 60 percent.
It is hoped that within a week, the survivors of the disaster will be able to occupy the huntara.
