South Jakarta Immigration Deporting Chinese Nationals Who Made Paid Photoshoots
JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Special Class I Immigration Office deported 13 foreign nationals (WNA) who made a paid photoshoot titled "Celebrity Portrait Event by Luxuravision.id" at a restaurant in Kebayoran Baru because they violated their residence permits.
"We have taken immigration administrative action in the form of deportation and denial of the 13 foreign nationals of Chinese origin in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations," said Head of the South Jakarta Immigration Office, Winarko, quoted by Antara.
"The chronology, continued he, on Monday (26/1) at 13.00 WIB until it was completed, the officers carried out immigration monitoring during the "Celebrity Portrait Event by Luxuravision.id" event at the Kebayoran Baru area restaurant, South Jakarta.
It was only known based on information obtained at the location, the activity was a celebrity-themed photo shoot organized by Luxuravision.id which was held in Jakarta on January 21-28, 2026, with a paid registration mechanism for each photo shoot session.
During the monitoring, officers recorded the presence of a number of foreign nationals who also played a role in the implementation of the activity, including as photographers, makeup artists, stylists, and part of the event committee.
"The entire monitoring process is carried out persuasively, humanistically and in accordance with the applicable procedures," he said.
As a follow-up, the foreign nationals were asked to attend the South Jakarta Immigration Office for further clarification and administrative examination.
Based on the results of the thorough examination, it turned out that the 13 foreign nationals had been proven to have abused their residence permits in Indonesia.
For this violation, on Thursday (12/2), they were deported in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.
The South Jakarta Immigration Office confirmed that this action was part of the implementation of immigration law which was carried out professionally, proportionally and upholding the principle of justice.
He invited the public to play an active role in maintaining immigration order by reporting if they know the existence or activities of foreigners who do not comply with applicable regulations.
He added that his party continued to be committed to carrying out supervision of the presence and activities of foreigners as part of efforts to maintain order and compliance with immigration regulations in this area.
