23 Mobile Reader on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road during the 2026 Lebaran Homecoming

JAKARTA - A total of 28 mobile readers will be activated on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period.

This followed the monitoring and evaluation activities carried out by the Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Wilan Oktavian and the Secretary of the BPJT Ni Komang some time ago.

The mobile reader business is carried out to add smoothness to transactions at toll gates (GT) for road users in the upcoming Indonesian community annual agenda.

Meanwhile, on the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road, 23 mobile readers and 14 submersible pumps will be prepared to anticipate puddles on the toll road.

"In the former patching, it means that maybe yesterday's patching was whether it was wet or what, and it was also messy when it came to the rest area. I think it should be handled quickly," said Wilan, quoted from the upload of the official BPJT Instagram account @pupr_bpjt, quoted Saturday, February 21.

The monitoring and evaluation activities were carried out to review the condition of the toll road during the rainy season and preparations for the peak Lebaran homecoming which is estimated to fall on March 18-19, 2026.

"BPJT emphasizes to the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) to continue to carry out patching or Scraping, Filling and Overlay (SFO) repairs on the pothole toll road to ensure the comfort and safety of toll road users," wrote BPJT.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the government had allocated funds of around Rp. 200 billion for the transportation discount program which will take place from February to March 2026.

The discount policy was prepared in the context of the 2026 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period, when the level of community mobility usually increases significantly.

"If the budget is relatively, for transportation discounts of around Rp. 200 billion," he told the media, Tuesday, February 3.

He explained, the government will provide a discount of up to 16 percent on domestic economy class air tickets.

In addition, Airlangga added, the price of jet fuel will also be discounted to reduce the operational burden of airlines.

Airlangga said that not only the aviation sector, similar incentives were also given for other modes of transportation, namely the government prepared a discount rate of up to 30 percent for sea and train transportation services.
