Four People Become Suspected Terrorist Recruiters In Merauke, Two Couples
JAKARTA - Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri admitted that four people were recruiters for suspected terrorists in Merauke, including a married couple AP and IK.
The four recruits who were suspected of being terrorists who were members of the Anshor Daulay Papua congregation, namely YK and SW and the AP and IK couples.
They have now been detained by Densus 88 and the Papuan Police in Merauke, along with five of their colleagues, said Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fakhiri to ANTARA in Jayapura, reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 2.
Admittedly, apart from the four recruiters, five of his colleagues were also arrested, namely AK, SB, ZR, UAT, DS, SD, and SR.
"Detachment 88 and members of the Papuan Regional Police are still carrying out investigations so that Papua is free from terrorism," said Fakhiri, hoping that the public would not have to be afraid.
However, if there are suspicious neighbors in the neighborhood, please inform the security forces because usually those who are members of terrorists are reluctant to socialize with the community, said Fakhiri.
He added that until now it has not been confirmed when the 11 suspected terrorists were brought to Jayapura, including two toddlers from the AP and IK couple.
The terrorists will be detained in the Brimob Kotaraja detention center, while IK will be held separately outside the Brimob Headquarters, said Inspector General Fakhiri.
