KPK Ready to Answer the Pre-trial Application of Former Kajari HSU who Wants Rp100 Billion in Compensation
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is ready to deliver an official response to the pretrial lawsuit filed by the former Head of the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District Prosecutor's Office, Albertinus P. Napitupulu.
This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in response to Albertinus' lawsuit, which is currently being tried at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). According to the plan, the answer will be submitted by the legal bureau team on Monday, February 23.
Reported from the Case Management Information System (SIPP) page, there are 12 points of the lawsuit filed by Albertinus as a suspect in alleged extortion. Among them, he asked the South Jakarta District Court to declare the seizure, arrest, determination, and detention to be invalid and to ask for a compensation of Rp. 100 billion.
"The KPK will submit an official answer to the pretrial request in accordance with the schedule of the trial set by the South Jakarta District Court Panel of Judges," Budi told reporters, quoted on Saturday, February 21.
Budi further stated that he respected the lawsuit filed by Albertinus. As a suspect, he indeed has a right.
However, the KPK believes that the handling of the case, which started with a hand-in-hand operation (OTT), is in accordance with the mechanism. Sufficient evidence of the beginning, said Budi, has also been collected.
"We are also intensively coordinating and synergizing professionally with other law enforcement agencies, including the Police and the Attorney General's Office, to ensure that the handling of the case is carried out effectively in accordance with legal provisions," he said.
"KPK is committed to being in line with the principle of due process of law and upholding the principles of fair trial, transparent, and accountable," continued Budi.
As previously reported, the KPK named the Head of the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District Attorney's Office, Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu, the Head of the Intelligence Section of the HSU District Attorney's Office, Asis Budianto, the Head of the Civil and State Administration Section (Datun) of the HSU District Attorney's Office, Tri Taruna Fariadi as suspects in the alleged extortion case. The arrest was made after the three were caught in OTT on Thursday, December 18.
The suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e, Article 12 letter f of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1-1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code.
After serving as the head of the HSU in August 2025, Albertinus allegedly received a flow of money of at least IDR 804 million, directly or through intermediaries, namely Asis and Tri Taruna and other parties.
The money received came from Albertinus' alleged extortion of a number of regional devices in HSU, including the Education Office, the Health Office, the Public Works Office (PU), and the Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
