Overcoming the Target, the IIMS 2026 Exhibition Records a Transaction of Rp8.7 Trillion
JAKARTA - The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026 automotive exhibition recorded positive achievements with transaction values reaching Rp8.7 trillion, or has exceeded the initial target of Rp8 trillion.
President Director of Dyandra Promosindo Daswar Marpaung said that the positive achievement at the 2026 IIMS was proof that the national automotive industry still has strong appeal from the public.
He assessed that this performance is expected to be an important capital for automotive industry players to face the rest of 2026 which is projected to still be overshadowed by various challenges, both in terms of purchasing power and global economic dynamics.
Based on the power received and the final report from the brands participating in the exhibition, IIMS 2026 recorded a total transaction of IDR 8.7 trillion. Meanwhile, the total number of visitors to the exhibition reached 580,250 people throughout the IIMS 2026 event on 5-15 February 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
"We are very proud and grateful that the implementation of IIMS 2026 has been carried out successfully. We also hope that this positive momentum continues to grow throughout 2026," said Daswar as quoted from a written statement, Saturday, February 21.
For comparison, the transaction figure in 2026 is also higher than the 2025 IIMS held on February 13-23, 2025 which recorded a total transaction of IDR 8 trillion.
The positive achievement of the extension of the IIMS 2026 was inseparable from the increasing participation of exhibitors. This year, a total of 62 automotive brands participated, consisting of 36 four-wheeled vehicle brands and 26 two-wheeled brands.
The list of brands that appear includes old players such as Toyota, Honda, Suzuki to Mitsubishi. In addition, there are also a number of new manufacturers from China such as Changan, iCar, Lepas to Geely.
Not only that, said Daswar, the impressive performance was also supported by a variety of programs that were packaged more variably, both in terms of sales promotion and entertainment, so that it was able to attract a wider range of visitors.
"In the future, we are committed to continuing to be open to many parties to encourage the sustainable growth of the national automotive industry," he added.
Nationally, data from the Indonesian Motor Vehicle Industry Association (Gaikindo) recorded that the distribution of car wholesales in January 2026 reached 66,447 units, or an increase of 7 percent year-on-year (yoy) compared to the achievement in January 2025 of 62,084 units.
Meanwhile, retail sales alias from dealers to consumers of 66,936 units in the same period also increased by 4.5 percent compared to the previous year of 64,076 units.
