Majority of Weather in the Indonesian Region Will Be Rained on Saturday

JAKARTA - The weather in most parts of Indonesia is expected to be showered with rain on Saturday.

BMKG Praktirawan Masayu Franstika on the Youtube channel that was followed in Jakarta reminded the public to be alert to the potential for heavy to very heavy rain in the North Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, North Maluku, and Papua Mountains.

For the weather in major cities starting from the island of Sumatra, Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Bengkulu, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung, light rain is predicted.

"Kota Jambi will be covered by thick clouds, and be alert for rain that may be accompanied by lightning in the Tanjung Pinang area," said Masayu, quoted by Antara.

"Turning to Java, he continued, the weather is predicted to be light rain in Bandung and Semarang, while Yogyakarta and Serang have the potential for moderate intensity rain.

"Be aware of the lightning that can occur in Jakarta and Surabaya," he said.

Moving to the Kalimantan region, he said, Tanjung Selor and Palangka Raya were predicted to rain with light intensity, while Pontianak and Samarinda would be hit by moderate rain.

People in the Banjarmasin area are asked to be alert for rain that may be accompanied by lightning.

Moving to the Bali and Nusa Tenggara region, he continued, the weather is predicted to be light rain in the Denpasar and Mataram areas.

"Be aware of the lightning that can occur in Kupang City," said Masayu.

Then for Sulawesi Island, the weather is predicted to be light rain in the Makassar, Kendari, and Manado areas. Meanwhile, Mamuju will be showered with moderate intensity rain.

"Be aware of lightning that can occur in the Palu and Gorontalo areas," he said.

For the Ambon, Ternate City, and Ambon regions, he said, there was the potential for light intensity rain.

Meanwhile, for the Papua region, Nabire City is predicted to be thick clouds, while light rain is predicted to rain on the Sorong, Manokwari, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya regions. Merauke City is predicted to rain with moderate intensity.
