One Year Leading Jakarta, Pramono-Rano Acknowledges the Handling of Floods to Traffic is Not Complete
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno have completed one year leading the Capital City. The two admitted that there were still a number of unfinished homework, including campaign promises that have not been realized.
One year of Pramono-Rano's leadership was commemorated in an event entitled "One Year of Building Jakarta from the Bottom" held at the Pusaka Flag Park.
Pramono said that the momentum was not just a ceremony, but a reflection of their government's performance. Looking at his one year of leadership, Pramono did not deny that Jakarta's classic problems had not been fully resolved.
"Indeed, there are still basic problems, there are still traffic jams, there are still floods, and then there are still pollution problems. And that is what we specifically want to minimize from what is happening now," said Pramono at the Pusaka Flag Park, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday, February 20.
He also touched on the promise of an increase in incentives for RT/RW managers that have not been realized. According to him, the reduction of revenue sharing funds (DBH) from the central government in the 2026 APBD of IDR 15 trillion narrows the room for action of the DKI Provincial Government in allocating the budget.
"What has not been is what I promised at that time, things related to incentives for RT/RW. Because yesterday our funds were cut by 15 trillion, the fiscal space became narrow. But I will still follow up on it in time, we will do it soon," he said.
In addition, Pramono admitted that his promise to install CCTV in every RT/RW had not been realized. Pramono promised to start implementing it this year.
"We will continue the program, hopefully this year Jakarta will have more complete CCTV, especially for transportation," he said.
In general, he assessed that most of the programs had been realized, although there were still small shortcomings. "So overall, almost everything has been realized, but it is really minor," he continued.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno said that out of the 40 programs that were launched, about 97 percent had been completed. There are three points that require more time.
He emphasized that the 2026 APBD was the initial foothold for drafting follow-up programs. There are three major problems that are the main focus, namely flooding, congestion, and poverty.
For flood control, the Provincial Government has started to release land in a number of points on the banks of the Ciliwung River, Krukut, and Cakung for the implementation of river normalization.
"For this reason, I hope that the Ciliwung community affected, we can work together. This means that if we can't work together, it's difficult for us to solve the problem of flooding in Jakarta," said Rano.
Regarding congestion, Rano touched on the expansion of the Transjabodetabek service as a solution, considering that the addition of roads is no longer possible. Currently, the DKI Provincial Government has operated seven Transjabodetabek routes and will inaugurate a new route, namely Blok M-Soekarno Hatta Airport in the near future.
Regarding poverty alleviation, he emphasized that various subsidy or social assistance programs, as well as free transportation services for 15 groups of people, continued to run even though they required a large budget.
"So it means I am very confident, in this second year we already have a program. What will we do? Of course we do the program year by year. Even though our period is 5 years. Then we can only evaluate after we finish," he added.
