BNN DIY Disrupts the Circulation of 93 Thousand Pills of 'Y' Koplo

JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) of the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) thwarted the circulation of 93 thousand koplo pills with the logo "Y" in Sleman Regency by arresting two suspects with initials RA and AP.

Head of BNNP DIY Brigjen Sulistyo Pudjo Hartono said RA and AP were arrested on Tuesday (17/2) at around 19.35 WIB at a house in Sendangadi Village, Mlati District, Sleman Regency.

"This is a very large number. The information we have is that they involve parties who act like pharmacies. So it's not an official pharmacy, but it acts like a pharmacy," said Sulistyo as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 20.

From the hands of suspect RA, officers seized 93 jars containing about 93 thousand pieces of "Y" logo koplo pills which were included in the G list of drugs of the trihexyphenidyl type.

In addition to the koplo pills, officers also seized 175 grams of methamphetamine from suspect RA. Meanwhile, from suspect AP, officers secured 4 grams of marijuana and a number of other evidence.

According to him, the coplo pills were obtained by RA from Jakarta at a price of Rp. 700 thousand per jar and the plan was to sell it again at a price of Rp. 800 thousand per jar to be distributed to the DIY area.

"It will be distributed to all regions of DIY. So not only in the city of Yogyakarta or Sleman, but the whole DIY, including Kulon Progo, Gunungkidul, and Bantul," he said.

BNNP DIY is still developing the case to trace the possibility of network connections in a number of areas, including Solo, Central Java.

"We need to trace the sources, both in Solo and in Yogyakarta and elsewhere. This needs further investigation to find the source and network in other provinces anywhere," he said.

He ensured that he would hunt down the main suppliers down to the level of manufacturers because the circulation of G-listed drugs without a permit violates the Health Law.
