Provocateur who asked residents to bring Sajam to hinder the police raided the Empat Lawang marijuana field was arrested.

PALEMBANG - The Four Lawang Police Resor, South Sumatra, arrested a provocateur who obstructed the raid on a marijuana field.

Kanit Pidum Polres Empat Lawang Ipda Yulius Saputra explained that the incident occurred during a raid on a 3-hectare marijuana field on February 13.

During the raid, police officers received resistance from dozens of residents carrying sharp weapons and the action was allegedly provoked by suspect F (43).

"Today we have arrested the suspect," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 20.

The suspect F is recorded as a resident of Batu Jungul Village, Muara Pinang District, Empat Lawang Regency.

When the personnel of the Empat Lawang Police Narcotics Unit would secure the suspects (the couple guarding the marijuana field) at the location, the suspects came with dozens of residents carrying sharp weapons such as machetes, knives, spears and homemade firearms.

The arrest of the suspect was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Empat Lawang Police when Feriyadi was in Tanjung Makmur Village, Tebing Tinggi District.

Previously reported, he along with dozens of residents blocked the police and forcibly took the couple who guarded the marijuana field.

"This perpetrator provoked the surrounding residents to burn the hut in the marijuana field and commit violence at the marijuana field location," he said.

Because they were threatened and pressured by dozens of residents, the personnel of the Empat Lawang Police Narcotics Unit forcibly released the couple of the perpetrators who were in the marijuana field.

Meanwhile, the other obstruction perpetrators are still being investigated by the Empat Lawang Police.
