John Mayer Ready To Return With New Album, Sob Rock

JAKARTA - Singer John Mayer announced the release of his eighth studio album titled Sob Rock. This album is his latest musical work after four years.

Through social media, Mayer shared a 1980s-style album artwork and mentioned the album's release date.

Sob Rock is the follow-up to the 2017 album The Search of Everything. The album focuses on dealing with a breakup.

After that, he released the songs New Light and I Guess I Just Feel Like in 2018. Followed by Carry Me Way in 2019.

Previously, Mayer had teased fans about his new album. "I'm sure you'll be excited."

"I'll make it like this: every day you leave without my new music is the day I can work hard to make sure (the album) can be heard by as many people as I enjoy producing it," he said in an Instagram Story.

Through TikTok, he explained that the album-making process had been completed in March. Now he just relaxes and listens to the album to his friends.

In addition, Mayer is also rumored to be the host for a talk show that will air on Paramount+.

John Mayer's Sob Rock album will be released July 16.
