Irish WNA Lost Items at Lombok Airport, NTB, Allegedly Lost in the Baggage Room
JAKARTA - The Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara, are still investigating the case of the loss of belongings of a foreign citizen from Ireland who was allegedly lost at the Lombok International Airport.
"We have received reports from the victims and have followed up on them," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Lombok Police, Inspector of Police One Lalu Brata Kusnadi in Central Lombok, Friday, quoted by Antara.
The victim named Ellen Margaret (28) from Ireland reported the theft case to the Central Lombok Police, Thursday, February 19.
The victim reported to law enforcement after finding out that his valuable items, such as laptops and money, were allegedly lost in the baggage room of Lombok Airport, because when the victim checked the suitcase there was nothing.
The victim only realized that his belongings were missing when he checked his suitcase after arriving at the hotel and the condition of the suitcase was already messed up.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of Branch Communication and CSR Department of Lombok Airport, Hidya Putri Ramadhina, said that based on Article 6 of the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number PM 77 of 2011 concerning the Responsibilities of Air Transport Operators, it is stated that the carrier is exempt from claims for damages for the loss of valuable or valuable items belonging to passengers stored in the recorded baggage.
"Except at the time of departure reporting (check in), the passenger has stated and shown that in the baggage there are recorded valuables or valuable items, and the carrier agrees to transport them," he said.
