Teen Drug Dealer in Halteng Arrested at Seafood Restaurant, 84 Saset Marijuana Seized

North Maluku Police thwarted attempts to smuggle and distribute marijuana-type narcotics in the Central Halmahera Regency (Halteng) area by arresting an offender with the initials AWW alias Adi Bosky aged 18 years.

Director of Narcotics Investigation of the North Maluku Police, Kombes Pol. Bobby P. Marpaung when contacted by Antara on Friday, February 20, explained that the disclosure of this case was after the police received information from the public.

According to the community, the perpetrator often distributes the illegal goods in the Weda area and its surroundings.

Following up on the report, the North Maluku Police moved towards Central Halmahera Regency. Based on the results of the investigation, officers obtained information that the alleged perpetrator was at a seafood restaurant in the Weda area.

The team then went to the location and secured Adi Bosky for questioning. In the initial interrogation process, the perpetrator admitted to storing and distributing marijuana-type narcotics stored at his residence in Fidi Jaya Village, Weda District.

The officers then conducted a search at the perpetrator's house, and from the results of the search, the team found as many as 84 small packets suspected to contain marijuana-type narcotics stored in a cardboard box in the perpetrator's room.

In addition to dozens of marijuana bags, the police also secured a number of other evidence in the form of a black Redmi mobile phone unit along with a SIM card, one dose of Nata de Coco drink, and one dose of mobile phone suspected to be related to the circulation activity.

According to him, his party will continue to take firm action against any form of drug abuse and distribution, especially those targeting the younger generation.

He also appreciated the role of the community who had provided information so that this case could be revealed.

Currently, the suspect and all the evidence have been secured at the North Maluku Police Narcotics Office to undergo further legal proceedings.

"The police are still conducting an in-depth investigation to uncover the possibility of other networks involved in the circulation of marijuana," he said.
