20 Banten Health Office Officials Resign Mass Amid Cases Of Mask Corruption, BKD Asks For Information
SERANG - The Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) began asking for information from 20 echelon III and IV officials within the Banten Health Office.
The summons was made after there was a mass resignation letter from their position in the agency.
The examination was led by Banten Regional Secretary Al Muktabar, as Chair of the Banten Position and Rank Advisory Board (Baperjakat) and as chairman of the state civil apparatus (ASN) builder in the area at the Banten Governor's Hall in Serang.
Head of the Banten Province BKD Komarudin said his party summoned the ASN in order to ask for information and clarification related to the basis for their resignation from their positions at the Banten Health Office.
He said the clarification stage would determine whether the Banten Health Office officials deserved to be dismissed from office or even fired after resigning together when the government was facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Dismissal is one of the options, other options are still being developed and today, it was decided," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 2.
Previously, Banten Governor Wahidin Halim threatened the 20 resigned officials to be given sanctions in the form of being "non-employed" and even fired because it was considered that the decision of the official within the Banten Health Office was intolerable in the midst of his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 20 echelon III and IV officials of the Banten Health Office previously submitted their resignations. The reason for the resignation is not yet known, whether it is related to the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of masks at the Banten Health Office which is being processed by the Banten Attorney General's Office or because of other factors.
