BEI: Need up to Rp187 Trillion in Funds to Meet 15 Percent Free Float
JAKARTA - PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) revealed that as many as 267 listed companies (emittors) on the BEI need funds of up to Rp. 187 trillion absorbed by the market to meet the minimum free float limit of 15 percent.
Director of Corporate Valuation of the IDX I Gede Nyoman Yetna revealed that currently 267 issuers have met the minimum free float limit of 7.5 percent, but have not yet met the minimum free float of 15 percent.
"The additional potential market cap of the 267 listed companies that must be absorbed by the market to meet the 15 percent free float is around Rp187 trillion," Nyoman told the media in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 19.
For your information, free float shares are a term in the stock market which means a number of shares that can be traded by the public.
Currently, the IDX has recorded that as many as 894 listed companies (emittors) have fulfilled the obligation to hold public shares or free float with a minimum limit of 7.5 percent of the total listed shares.
On the other hand, the IDX noted that there were still 49 issuers who had not met the free float provision with a minimum limit of 7.5 percent, including 18 companies that had submitted a Monthly Report on the Registration of Securities Ownership (LBRE), but had not met the free float and or number of shareholders.
Then, as many as 31 other companies did not submit LBRE as of December 31, 2025, so they were declared not to meet the requirements because there was no data that could be reviewed by the exchange.
The data refers to LBRE as of December 31, 2025, which was conveyed by the IDX through Announcement Number Peng-S-00006/BEI.PLP/02-2026.
As is known, the Stock Exchange of Indonesia (IDX) together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) will soon adjust the rules for the free float limit of shares from the current 7.5 percent to 15 percent, which is targeted to be implemented starting in March 2026.
"The implementation of this regulation adjustment is planned to be carried out in March 2026," said BEI Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad.
