ZTE and MyRepublic Indonesia Collaboration to Promote 5G FWA Expansion in the Country
JAKARTA - ZTE Corporation has entered into a strategic partnership with MyRepublic Indonesia through "Project Ascend" to bring MyRepublic Air, a 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service in the country.
This initiative will utilize the 1.4 GHz frequency band obtained by MyRepublic Indonesia, a leading fiber broadband and pay-TV service provider operating under PT Eka Mas Republik, a subsidiary of PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk, through an auction process organized by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Republic of Indonesia.
This partnership aims to accelerate the expansion of high-speed wireless broadband services to various regions outside urban centers, including Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara.
By utilizing the 1.4 GHz spectrum, this partnership enables the provision of efficient broadband services in areas with medium to low density, while complementing existing infrastructure and supporting efforts to expand connectivity more broadly.
Hendra Gunawan, Chief Technology Officer MyRepublic Indonesia, said that this initiative reflects the company's long-term commitment to inclusive national development.
"Through a partnership with ZTE, we are working to ensure that MyRepublic Air provides reliable and affordable internet access that can reach people who have not been optimally served," he said.
As a technology partner, ZTE will provide end-to-end network solutions that include Radio Access Network (RAN), Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), core network, wireless backhaul, and electrical systems.
This integrated approach allows MyRepublic to accelerate the implementation process, while ensuring the network remains scalable, efficient, and ready to support future data traffic growth.
"By combining the market reach of MyRepublic Indonesia and ZTE's global technology expertise, this partnership is expected to help create a more resilient and inclusive broadband ecosystem, drive sustainable digital growth, empower people, and support businesses in various regions," concluded Richard Liang, President Director of ZTE Indonesia.
