Israeli Illegal Settlers Shoot Dead Palestinian-US Teenager in West Bank H-1 Board of Peace

JAKARTA - Clashes have broken out again in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, killing a Palestinian-American (US) teenager on or Wednesday, February 18, or H-1 of the first meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) alias Peace Council for Gaza.

Citing AP, Thursday, February 19, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that a teenager named Nasrallah Muhammad Jamal Abu Siyam was shot dead by Israeli illegal settlers in the village of Mukhmas, West Bank, north of Jerusalem.

The Israeli military, the only law enforcement agency in power in the illegal West Bank settlements, admitted to intervening to defuse clashes by trying to disperse the parties to the repeated riots.

The Israeli military also confirmed that the perpetrator shot several other Palestinians. The victims were said to have been evacuated for medical treatment.

Abu Siyam's mother told AFP that her son, the victim of this violence, had US citizenship. However, the US Embassy when asked for comment on this matter has not yet responded on Thursday.

Cases of violence in the West Bank, which are the result of extremist political Israeli illegal settlers, have continued to increase sharply in recent years.

A number of human rights groups say many cases of violence that often injure and even kill Palestinians in the West Bank are handled unfairly by Israeli law enforcement. It is common knowledge that the perpetrators, who are generally illegal Israeli settlers, fail to be prosecuted or even fail to be sentenced for their behavior.

According to the Israeli human rights group Yesh Din, under the leadership of Israel's Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, investigations into settler attacks have drastically decreased.
