Prabowo Attends the First Board of Peace Summit at the US Institute of Peace

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto attended the first Board of Peace Summit (KTT) held at the Donald J. Trump US Institute of Peace in Washington DC, United States, Thursday morning local time.

The convoy carrying President Prabowo passed on the road to the US Institute of Peace at around 08.00 local time. Several major roads around the event location, since 07.00, have been sterilized, which means that public vehicles are not free to pass.

Reported by ANTARA, in the inaugural Gaza Peace Council (Board of Peace/BoP) Summit in Washington DC today, President Prabowo attended the invitation of US President Donald J. Trump Jr. as the host and initiator of the BoP. Several other member state leaders were also present, including from Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Pakistan, Paraguay, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Egypt.

Then, there are also representatives from Belarus, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Israel.

During the meeting, the leaders of member countries, including President Prabowo, will be given time to speak at the forum. The BoP summit will be opened by President Trump.

At the US Institute of Peace, President Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

On a separate occasion, Foreign Minister Sugiono explained several agendas of the BoP Summit.

"(At) 08.40 the plan will begin, and several things will be conveyed, from the chairman of the BoP, its executive board, but of course member countries are given the opportunity to speak," Sugiono told reporters in the US, Wednesday (18/2).

In the document of the event arrangement issued by the organizer of the Board of Peace Summit, the event began with a group photo session at 08.40, then continued with a speech by President Trump as the host.

After that, the meeting was filled with presentations from a number of key BoP figures, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz, Ali Shaath, Nick Mladenov, Tony Blair, Yakir Gabay, Liran Tancman, Marc Rowan, President of the World Bank Ajay Banga, and Jared Kushner.

The next agenda, the leaders of member countries will speak in an intervention session. President Prabowo spoke in the fourth order after the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the first order, then President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the second order, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the third order.

In fifth place after President Prabowo, there is Romanian President Nicusor Dan, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Qatar Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Kuwait Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Aljub.

After the intervention session, the event continued with the establishment of resolutions and voting, then the series of events was closed again by the host, President Trump.
