Pelita Air Plane Crashes in Pa Remayo Mountains, North Kalimantan

NUNUKAN, KALTARA - A Pelita Air aircraft of the Air Tractor AT-802 type with registration PK-PAA was reported to have crashed in the Pa Remayo mountain area, East Krayan District, Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan.

The report was received at around 12.20 WITA on Thursday, February 19 and was immediately responded to by TNI soldiers from the nearest unit.

Kapendam VI/Mulawarman Gatot Teguh Waluyo said that the TNI elements deployed to the scene included personnel from Kodim 0911/Nunukan, the Yon Armed 4/Prh Pamtas RI-Malaysia Task Force, and Koramil 0911-06/Krayan.

One pilot was found dead. The body was then evacuated by the TNI with related elements to the Pratama Krayan Hospital.

Until now, the parties concerned are still investigating the cause of the plane crash in the area.
