Landslide in Tegal, BNPB prepares 900 Huntara and Rp600 thousand housing waiting fund per KK
TEGAL - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) ensures that residents affected by the landslide disaster in Tegal Regency, Central Java, will receive temporary housing (huntara) to permanent housing (huntap).
The certainty was conveyed by the Head of BNPB, Lieutenant General TNI Suharyanto, when he visited the evacuation post in Padasari Village, Jatinegara District.
"900 units of huntara were built, while land for 500 units has been prepared," said Suharyanto in front of residents, Thursday, February 19.
According to him, the construction of the huntara will be accelerated even though it is constrained by the availability of land. BNPB proposes a self-development scheme so that residents can determine the location of the huntara in accordance with the agreement with the village government.
"Huntara can be built independently, one by one per citizen, so that the Village Head is expected to prepare the land," he said.
While waiting for the huntara to be completed, residents were given the choice of where to live. They can stay at the evacuation post, live with relatives, or rent a house.
"A waiting fund for housing of Rp. 600 thousand per month per family head will be given to residents who choose not to occupy the evacuation post until the huntara is completed," said Suharyanto.
In addition to temporary housing, the government has also prepared the construction of huntap. The scheme can be centralized or independent, provided that the location is safe from disaster risk and meets the technical criteria set.
"Huntap will be built soon, it can be centralized and independent. If there are residents who want to be developed outside the Tegal Regency, they are still allowed," he said.
BNPB also encourages relocation for residents living in the landslide-prone zone. The affected area will be reforested and no longer inhabited.
"One of the solutions is relocation, find a new place that is safe and relocate. The place where the landslide occurred is being reforested and can no longer be occupied by humans," he concluded.
During the visit, BNPB also handed over logistical assistance in the form of food and equipment to support emergency handling at the affected locations.
