KSAD General Maruli Donates 12 Houses for the Families of Marine Soldiers Victims of the Cisarua Landslide
JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak handed over 12 units of houses and compensation to 23 heirs of soldiers of the TNI AL Marine Corps who died due to a landslide disaster in Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, last January. The handover was carried out at the Headquarters of the Marine Corps Command (Mako Kormar) TNI AL, Kwitang, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (18/2/2026).
Of the total recipients, 12 families of soldiers who have families received assistance for houses according to their respective domicile. Meanwhile, 11 heirs of soldiers who are not married received compensation.
The KSAD General Maruli emphasized that the assistance did not erase the loss, but he said that the state and institutions should not let the families of soldiers walk alone after the incident. "They left not for nothing as a proud nation. What we give, can't bring back the situation, but we hope to further strengthen the family ties between the families left behind and the TNI," said KSAD Maruli.
He also stated that the children of soldiers who died would continue to be accompanied, through educational assistance in the form of scholarships and opportunities to participate in the selection of TNI soldiers in the future.
The handover of assistance was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Navy (KSAL) Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (KSAU) Marshal TNI Muhammad Tonny Harjono, and the Chairman of the General Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Ny. Uli Simanjuntak.
Of the 23 soldiers of the Marine Corps who were victims of the Cisarua landslide, all have been found. A total of 19 soldiers have been buried, while four soldiers are still in the process of identification.
