Google Maps Removes Review Display for Users Who Are Not Logged In

Google Maps has quietly implemented a 'limited view' mode for users who are not logged in. Now, without a Google account entered, users will lose important information.

They will not be able to access information such as reviews of places to visit or photo galleries added by Maps users. This restriction was first discovered after users reported the problem on Reddit.

According to a report from 9to5google, this problem has been complained about for the past week. Some users also said that they received a message from Google stating that this restriction occurred due to unusual traffic detection.

Therefore, Google asks users to log into their accounts to avoid the limited display. The difference in function between Google Maps using an account and not is not very noticeable if the user opens the location details.

In the account-less version, Google will hide hotel data, rental places, and photos of the surrounding environment that usually appear. For locations such as restaurants, information such as customer reviews and videos from users will also not be displayed.

In fact, user reviews are one of the most important displays to explain the state or service of the place you want to visit. Not only that, the popular time feature and menu details are also missing from the user display that does not log in.

Several business locations and tourist attractions are also rumored to be missing from the map in this limited mode. Users can only see basic details such as address, phone number, and operating hours.

Until now, Google has not given an official statement regarding the reason behind the restrictions. The only way to overcome the restrictions is to log in using a Google account.
