Digital Document Fraud Increasing, Privy Invites the Public to Verify Before Believing

JAKARTA - Fraud based on digital documents that appear official, complete with letterheads, signatures, to QR Codes, is increasingly becoming a serious threat amid the massive adoption of digital technology in Indonesia.

The OJK Indonesia Anti Scam Center (IASC) report also recorded losses due to digital fraud reaching IDR 9.1 trillion with more than 411 thousand reports throughout November 2024 to December 2025.

Responding to this condition, Privy as the Electronic Certificate Organizer (PSrE) initiated the #CekDuluBaruPercaya initiative supported by the Ministry of Communication and Digital.

This movement aims to encourage the public to develop the habit of verifying digital documents through the privy.id/verifikasi-pdf website before trusting, signing, or making decisions.

"We encourage the public to develop the habit of verifying before trusting or following up on digital documents," said Director of Certification and Electronic Transactions Supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI), Teguh Arifiyadi, quoted Thursday, February 19.

In line with this, the Chief Executive Officer & Founder of Privy, Marshall Pribadi, assessed that the main challenge in the current digital era is not in the availability of technology, but in how people build trust.

"Through #CekDuluBaruPercaya, we want to encourage a change in habits, from just seeing and believing, to checking and verifying before acting," explained Marshall.

According to Marshall, with the right technology, checking the authenticity of digital documents can be done quickly and easily, so that digital fraud prevention can be carried out before the risk occurs.

To date, Privy has also prevented 122 million fraud attempts on our service. This illustrates how great the risk of digital fraud is for the public.

"In this way, Privy will continue to innovate in strengthening public security and comfort in digital interaction with verified identities and of course guaranteed validity," added Marshall.

Through the #CekDuluBaruPercaya initiative, Privy encourages the public to use the official verification channel that is already available, through the Privy verification service at privy.id/verifikasipdf.
