Celebrate Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, BI Strengthen Infrastructure and Supply of Indonesian Rupiah
Bank Indonesia (BI) has stated that it will ensure the smooth running of the national payment system, including during the Ramadan and Idulfitri holidays in 1447 Hijriah.
Governor of BI Perry Warjiyo said that the stability of the payment system remained maintained supported by a stable infrastructure and a healthy industry structure.
He conveyed that stable infrastructure was reflected in the implementation of the Bank Indonesia Payment System (SPBI) and a smooth and reliable industry payment system, as well as the adequacy of the supply of money in adequate quantity and quality in January 2026.
"A healthy industrial structure is reflected in the interconnection between actors in the payment system, which continues to strengthen and is followed by an expanding Digital Financial Economy (EKD) ecosystem," he said in a press conference, Thursday, February 19.
Looking ahead, Perry said Bank Indonesia will continue to strengthen the structure of the payment system industry, especially in terms of risk management and reliability of technology infrastructure of industry players, in line with the implementation of Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 10 of 2025 concerning the Regulation of the Payment System Industry (PBI PISP).
He added, on the non-cash side, Bank Indonesia will maintain the availability, reliability, and security of the SPBI infrastructure, both retail and wholesale, as well as the infrastructure of the industry payment system.
Meanwhile, on the cash side, Perry said, Bank Indonesia will ensure the availability of rupiah money in adequate and quality amounts throughout the territory of the Republic of Indonesia through the Semarak rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Idulfitri (SERAMBI) 2026 program.
"Money exchange services at strategic locations will be strengthened through the Rupiah Exchange and Withdraw Money (PINTAR) application," he said.
Perry said Bank Indonesia will consistently maintain the availability of rupiah money in sufficient quantities with quality that is suitable for distribution throughout the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), including the Leading, Outer, and Remote areas (3T).
