President Prabowo Says Indonesia is an Investment Destination for American Entrepreneurs
WASHINGTON D.C. - President Prabowo Subianto said that Indonesia is an attractive country for investment destinations and should be taken into account by global business actors.
This was conveyed by President Prabowo Subianto in front of American businessmen during a Business Summit held at the US Chamber of Commerce, Washington DC, Wednesday, February 18 local time.
In the forum, President Prabowo also conveyed that if Indonesia has natural resource wealth that is not only abundant but also strategic. However, according to him, the appeal of Indonesian investment does not stop at that aspect.
President Prabowo assessed that Indonesia is currently encouraging the acceleration of industrialization which opens up new investment opportunities in various sectors. From the perspective of natural resources, he continued, Indonesia has reserves of critical minerals such as nickel, copper, and bauxite which are important raw materials for future technologies.
Meanwhile, in terms of industrialization, President Prabowo said Indonesia is now focusing on the downstream of natural resources.
President Prabowo gave an example that the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) will initiate 18 downstream projects this year, including a waste processing project into energy worth Rp50.4 trillion (USD 3 billion).
