NasDem Reveals the Reason for Ahmad Sahroni to Return to Lead Commission III of the DPR After Being Sanctioned for Ethics: He Has Experience and Ability

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party revealed the reason for the re-election of Ahmad Sahroni as the head of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives after being deactivated as a member of the House of Representatives by the Council of Honor Court (MKD) related to the demonstration in August 2025.

NasDem assessed that Sahroni had the experience and ability to lead the legal commission of the DPR RI.

"Yes, until today, from what is there, Mr. Sahroni does have experience in Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives," said NasDem Deputy Chairman, Saan Mustopa at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 19.

"So from two periods, yes, to become the head of Commission III, and still today, for example, it is re-designated as the head of Commission III, it does have experience, adequate ability to become the head of Commission III of the DPR RI," continued the Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI.

According to Saan, there is no need to argue anymore because Sahroni has completed the ethical sanctions issued by the MKD.

"MKD has already decided. So if it has been determined by the leadership of the DPR, in Commission III yes, it means that the DPR is related to the MKD decision is complete. Yes, it's done, right," he said.

Although Sahroni should have completed his sanction on March 1, 2026, according to Saan, the general treasurer of his party had followed all the decisions and mechanisms that were running in the MKD.

"In MKD there is a mechanism. So we all follow what the MKD decision is," he explained.

"So once again, we follow what the MKD decision is. So if, for example, the DPR leadership has determined it, it means that it is not a problem in the MKD," added Saan.
