Pramono to New KJMU Recipients: Education is the Key to Breaking the Chain of Misfortune
JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, attended the Orientation Forum for New Recipients of the 2025 Phase II Jakarta Student Excellence Card (KJMU).
A total of 100 new recipients of students attended directly from seven universities in Jakarta. Around 500 other students from various campuses outside DKI attended the activity online.
In front of the recipients, Pramono emphasized that the scholarship opportunity should be used to the fullest. He reminded, not everyone has the same opportunity to receive higher education through government support.
"Use this opportunity for yourself, your family, and your future. Moments like this don't come often. I believe and believe that to break the line of misfortune in the family, education is the key. Scholarships like KJMU are what can help make it happen," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, February 19.
Pramono explained that KJMU is not only a cost-sharing assistance. This program also includes coaching and mentoring, including student self-development activities.
Therefore, KJMU recipients are asked to maintain academic achievements and complete their studies on time. Students are also encouraged to actively organize to form character and leadership.
"Therefore, we expect the recipients to be able to maintain academic achievements, complete their studies on time, and uphold integrity, discipline, and ethics. In addition, students are also expected to be active in student organizations to form character and leadership. In essence, use the opportunity to organize," he explained.
Pramono also opened the opportunity for the expansion of the scope of KJMU in the future. He hopes that the program will not only target the S1 level, but also S2 and S3 so that access to higher education for Jakarta residents will be more sustainable.
"Hopefully, the KJMU recipients can grow into a generation of young people who are accomplished, proud, and contribute to the transformation of Jakarta into a global city that is sustainable and competitive. Dream as high as possible. We all have the right to dream of anything. It is the dream that will be the trigger to achieve the best achievements," said Pramono.
Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Nahdiana, said that the Phase II KJMU in 2025 was part of the DKI Provincial Government's efforts to ensure that students' access to and continuity of education are maintained.
He encouraged the establishment of the KJMU Forum at each university as a space for communication and strengthening the network between recipients.
"Through this forum, the Education Office ensures that the distribution of assistance is targeted and strengthens the guidance, assistance, and academic commitment of the beneficiaries," said Nahdiana.
In Phase II in 2025, KJMU was given to 16,920 students spread across 97 state universities throughout Indonesia and 17 private universities in the DKI Jakarta region. Of these, 2,524 were new recipients and 14,396 were continuing recipients. Previously, in Phase I, similar assistance had been distributed to 16,979 students.
