This Year Is the Busiest Ramadan for Oki Rengga
JAKARTA - Comedian Oki Rengga is preparing to welcome the busiest Ramadan in his life. Not only will he fill the sahur program on television, he will also undergo the film shooting process at the same time. The schedule will be very busy from morning to morning again.
"Alhamdulillah yes... this Ramadan is my busiest. Masyaallah," said Oki Rengga in South Jakarta, Thursday, February 19.
"Because I'm morning to night, I'm filming this movie... If I'm up at night until morning, I'm fasting," he explained.
This clash of schedules was actually not planned. According to Oki, the shooting schedule for his film was delayed, so it finally coincided with the fasting month.
"The shooting timeline is a bit backwards. It should be... I only have to fast for two days in this film," he said.
Meanwhile, the contract for the sahur program has been approved by him for a long time. This makes him unable to refuse either of the two jobs.
Carrying out two big jobs while fasting is certainly a tremendous challenge. Oki can only hope that he is given health.
"I don't know, hopefully I'm healthy," he said.
The consequence of this super-busy schedule is that he will hardly have time to go home.
"So it seems like there is no moment for me... I don't go back to this house," he admitted.
Behind the crazy work schedule in Ramadan, there is a wife who is very supportive and understanding. Oki Rengga admitted that his wife never forbade him to take a job, as long as he still maintained his health.
"My wife never told me to take any job. In fact, my wife told me to rest," said Oki.
Despite the weight, his wife still gave full permission.
"He knew the time of the permit was the same as him, he said, 'Yes, this will be limited after this'," he said.
The wife even prepared a "gift" for Oki after all his busy work was finished. He was allowed to go on vacation by himself to channel his hobby.
"'If you want to go on vacation by yourself, please.' Yes, my wife is like that. 'If you want to go somewhere, who knows I like watching football, please'," he continued.
However, for Oki, the most important thing he wants to do after Lebaran is to make up for lost time with his son, Arthur.
"This is finished, Eid, I want to be with Arthur," he said.
He felt sad because lately he didn't have much time to interact with his child.
"Just this afternoon he was crying. He wants to sleep with Dad," he said.
To treat the longing, communication through video calls is the only way.
"Video call for sure. For sure. Before going to bed, whatever he wants to do, he video calls me," said Oki.
