JCI Thursday Towards Level 8.400, Check the Stock Recommendations
JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) is projected to reach 8,400 on today's trading, Thursday, February 19. Phintraco Sekuritas in its research estimates that the index will move in the range of resistance 8,400, pivot 8,350, and support 8,250.
Phintraco Sekuritas explained that the JCI closed yesterday with a gain of 1.19 percent to 8,310.23, driven by optimism after a long holiday. Expectations for economic conditions that are still solid, anticipation of the performance of issuers and dividend distribution are some factors that support this optimism.
"All sectors are strengthening with the largest increase in the transportation sector," wrote Phintraco Sekuritas.
However, Phintraco Sekuritas explained that the rupiah closed at a weakened level of Rp16,885 per US dollar in the spot market, in line with the strengthening of the US Dollar. Most indices on the Asian stock exchange also closed stronger, despite new concerns about the impact of the AI sector.
Chinese, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korean exchanges are still closed due to the Lunar New Year holiday.
Technically, Phintraco Sekuritas explained, a Golden Cross was formed on the IHSG MACD indicator and supported by an increase in buying volume. Stochastic RSI is still moving in the pivot area. IHSG also closed above the MA5 level.
"Thus, today's JCI is predicted to continue to strengthen and test the level of 8,350-8,400," said Phintraco Securities.
Phintraco Sekuritas added, investors will pay attention to the results of the Bank Indonesia Board of Governors Meeting (RDG BI) today, which is expected to still maintain the BI Rate at the level of 4.75 percent, the Deposit Facility Rate remains at 3.75 percent and the Lending Facility Rate remains at the level of 5.5 percent.
"In addition, data on credit growth in January 2026 will also be released, which is expected to be stable at 9.6 percent YoY," added Phintraco Sekuritas.
