Ramadan in Jakarta: Finding harmony between shopping, music and sports at Jakcloth
JAKARTA - Ramadan always brings special traditions for the Indonesian people, one of which is the preparation for Eid. This year, the Jakcloth Lebaran Fair 2026 is back at Plaza Timur Senayan, but with a packaging that feels more inclusive and diverse than in previous years.
Running from March 7 to March 18, 2026, this event tries to portray the lifestyle of urban young people who still want to look fashionable with local products without having to empty their pockets.
Meet Space for 350 Selected Local Brands
Jakcloth has long transformed from a mere market to a showcase for creative MSMEs. This year, as many as 350 local clothing brands participated. Interestingly, all the products that are present have gone through a fairly strict curation process.
"Our focus is on quality. All local brands involved have been curated in detail," said Ucok, Founder of Jakcloth. "We want to create a productive 'ngabuburit' atmosphere. People can find their Eid al-Fitr needs while enjoying music entertainment in the same area."
Music Symphony in the Middle of Ramadan Atmosphere
One of the attractions that make Jakcloth still relevant is its music stage. This year, the line-up of event participants reflects the diversity of cross-generational music tastes.
Starting from the chanting of Opick's religious songs, to the energetic appearance of Aldy Taher Band, Ten2five, and Element. Not to forget, up-and-coming bands such as Dongker, Dear9Three (Maxime Bouttier's music project), to the new viral unit, Sukses Lancar Rezeki, also enlivened the evening atmosphere in Senayan.
New Innovations: From Band Festival to Night Run
2026 marks Jakcloth's move to become more than just a fashion bazaar. There is a touch of competition and health that is inserted in the series of events.
Aa Godbless, Program Director Jakcloth Lebaran Fair, explained that there were efforts to accommodate new talents through the daily Band Festival. However, what caught the most attention was the Jakcloth Night Run Ramadan agenda.
"We try to combine the elements of UMKM bazaars, music, and sports. This night marathon after breaking the fast is our way of inviting visitors to stay active even during Ramadan," explained Aa Godbless.
Local Economic and Talent Mission
The presence of Jakcloth at Plaza Timur Senayan for two weeks is expected to be a catalyst for the growth of the creative economy. In addition to providing a stage for local designers, this event is also expected to be an incubator for local music talent to be known more widely.
For residents of Jakarta and its surroundings, the Jakcloth Lebaran Fair 2026 is not just a place to shop, but a space for celebrating local creativity in the midst of the hot atmosphere of Ramadan.
