All victims were evacuated to Hasta Brata Hospital, Batu City.
Police suspect that the accident was caused by the failure of the braking function of the truck with the police number 8640 UG which was driven by Eko Wahyudi (33) while passing on Jalan Pattimura.
"The suspicion is that the brakes are blong so (the driver) loses control so that there is a collision (collision)," he said.
Atang explained that the truck started hitting the back of the four-wheeled vehicle with the police number N 1822 JJ driven by the survivor Gatot Susilo and in it there were two injured victims, namely Lilik Yuliani and Syafa Adinda Yugatan Anggunia Susilo.
After the collision occurred, the truck continued to drive in the downhill road contour and hit the back of the four-wheeled vehicle with the police number B 1613 HZM driven by Frans Ricardo Pakpahan.
"Then also hit the back of a two-wheeled vehicle with the police number N 5977 TBI driven by Zezen Ardianto and a motorcycle N 2996 LR driven by Iwan Kurniawan," he said.
Atang explained that after hitting two motorbikes, Eko Wahyudi as the truck driver turned the steering wheel to the left side of the Pattimura Road body.
"The truck he was driving hit the electricity pole," he said.
Based on ANTARA's monitoring at the location, two cars hit by the truck suffered damage to the back and front.
Even one car B 1613 HZM driven by Frans Ricardo Pakpahan also suffered a ringsek on the front. Meanwhile, two motor vehicles had already been evacuated.
