Satpol PP Patungan Rp70 Million Surgery House 3 KK in Kapuk, Rano Karno: Not Just Physical Building

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno laid the first stone of a house surgery program initiated by the DKI Jakarta Police Pamong Praja Unit on Jalan Ukir, Kapuk Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

This program targets houses with an area of around 33.83 square meters inhabited by three families in three different plots. The building, which is around 40 years old, is considered to have not met safety standards and needs a thorough repair.

Rano said that this activity was part of the local government's efforts to improve the quality of housing for low-income residents as well as a poverty alleviation strategy.

"This program is not only about repairing physical buildings, but also bringing new hope to those in need. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government wants to ensure that every citizen has a safe, healthy, and livable place to live. Therefore, collaboration and mutual cooperation across sectors are key in improving the welfare of citizens," said Rano, Wednesday, February 18.

According to him, decent housing has a direct impact on the quality of life of its residents. The improvement of housing is expected to trigger a new spirit for the beneficiary families.

"Decent housing will provide a sense of security and comfort for its residents. From a good place to live, a new spirit will grow to live life more optimistically. Let's together support the government's programs to alleviate poverty and improve the quality of life of Jakarta residents," he explained.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, said that this house surgery program was an internal initiative for his ranks as a form of social responsibility. The funds used came from the collective dues of Satpol PP members, which amounted to around Rp. 70 million.

"The Home Surgery Program is a tangible form of our concern for those in need. We want to be present not only as an enforcer of the regulation, but also as part of a social solution in the community. Through this program, hopefully the quality of life of Jakarta residents can be improved and the environment becomes more orderly, safe, and conducive," said Satriadi.

The implementation of home surgery is scheduled to take place from February to April 2026. In the process, Satpol PP personnel are also involved in volunteer work to demolish and clean the environment around the location.
