30 SAR Team Members Dispatched to Search for Elderly in South Lampung Crossing the Usai River after Gardening Lost

JAKARTA - The joint SAR team said it was still searching for an elderly man named Ajudin (60) who was reported missing in the Dusun Taman Harum River, Ruguk Village, Ketapang District, South Lampung Regency on Tuesday, February 17.

Head of the Bakauheni SAR Post, Rezie Kuswara, said the victim was a resident of Ruguk Village, Ketapang District, who was reported missing while crossing the river after returning from his field.

"Currently we are conducting a search on foot from the location where the victim's vehicle was found to the east towards the downstream of the river for three kilometers," he said in South Lampung, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that in the process of searching for the victim, weather conditions were still a major challenge in the SAR operation.

"The search does not use the RB ship due to the shallow river conditions, prioritizing safety factors and paying attention to the weather in the search area," he said.

According to him, various ways were carried out by the joint SAR team in carrying out the search for the victim.

"Coordination between SRU using HT and HP is carried out intensively to anticipate rain or flooding from upstream rivers," he said.

According to him, the SAR team involved in the search numbered 30 people from various agencies in South Lampung Regency.

"SAR Bakauheni post 12 people, Polairud Lampung Police two, Polairud South Lampung Police two, BPBD six, Fire and Rescue Service five, Satpol PP one, Babinsa Desa Ruguk one, Bhabinkamtibmas Desa Ruguk one, Aparat Desa Ruguk, as well as families and surrounding communities," he said.
