Ungu Presents New Religious Single as a Reflection Material During Ramadan
Ungu greeted his listeners again with a religious breath ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. This time, the band led by Pasha, Enda, Oncy, Makki, and Rowman - released a new single titled "Pulang Pada-Mu".
This song carries a deep narrative about a servant's spiritual turning point who had lost his way in the midst of the hustle and bustle of worldly ambitions.
"Pulang Pada-Mu" offers an honest perspective on the concept of repentance. Enda as the songwriter said, the inspiration for this song came from the empty space he felt in the midst of busy work.
According to him, material achievements and ambitions often actually distance humans from the essence of true peace, namely the relationship with the creator.
"I wrote this song based on what I felt. When I was busy with work and pursuing my ambitions, I felt a void," said Enda in his statement, Wednesday, February 18.
"From there, a search for Allah SWT emerged, accompanied by a sense of regret and a desire to return to Him," he continued.
As a form of totality, Enda even went down directly to be a model in his music video to strengthen the personal message contained in the lyrics.
In addition, the vocalist of Ungu, Sigit Purnomo Syamsuddin Said or commonly known as Pasha, hopes that this latest work will be a reflection for the wider community, especially Muslims who are preparing to welcome the fasting month.
For him, Ungu has a moral responsibility to continue to consistently present religious-themed songs that are relevant to the dynamics of modern life.
"We hope that 'Pulang Pada-Mu' can be a spiritual travel companion during Ramadan. This song we present in line with Ungu's identity which has always presented religious works as a space for reflection and reminder for its listeners," said Pasha.
The song "Pulang Pada-Mu" can be enjoyed on various digital music platforms. The presence of this single also emphasizes Ungu's position as one of the top bands in Indonesia who are most productive in releasing religious discography over the past two decades.
