Bank Indonesia East Kalimantan Prepares Rp2.18 Trillion in Cash for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026

SAMARINDA - Through the Serambi (Semarak Rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Idul Fitri) program with the theme "Rupiah Gives Meaning in a Month Full of Blessings", the Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPwBI) for East Kalimantan Province has prepared cash amounting to Rp. 2.18 trillion to meet the needs of the community during Ramadan and Idul Fitri (RAFI) 2026,

The Head of the BI Kaltim Representative Office, Jajang Hermawan, in Samarinda, Tuesday, explained that the provision of ULE is an anticipation of the surge in the need for cash, which usually reaches 20 percent of the total annual needs.

"The amount we have prepared this year has increased by 19.13 percent (yoy) compared to the previous year," said Jajang.

Nationally, Bank Indonesia allocates Rp185.6 trillion in circulation worthy money. This program is the implementation of Law Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency to ensure the availability of sufficient money, appropriate denominations, on time, and guaranteed authenticity.

According to Jajang, the money exchange service in East Kalimantan will take place from February 18 to March 15, 2026 in seven regencies/cities.

BI cooperates with banks to provide access through, Retail Exchange through a number of mosques in Samarinda,,Integrated Services are si Gedung Pramuka Samarinda and Banking Offices are located at 35 bank office points that have been designated.

For people who want to exchange money, continued Jajang, they must register online through the PINTAR application or website. The registration quota for the Kalimantan region is opened in two stages. Phase I on February 14, 2026 (at 08.00 WIB), and Phase II on February 27, 2026 (at 08.00 WIB). The maximum limit for exchange is set at Rp. 5.3 million per person in one package.

Through Serambi 2026, BI also invites the public to apply the spirit of Love, Pride, and Understanding of the Rupiah. This is done by recognizing the authenticity of money through the 3D method (seen, touched, and thought about) and taking care of physical money with the 5J principle (Do not fold, scribble, squeeze, staple, and wet).

Jajang also appreciated the synergy of banks and working partners in East Kalimantan in ensuring the distribution of rupiah money runs smoothly, orderly, and on target during this religious big day momentum.
