Update Location of the Isbat Ramadan 1447 H Session: Move to Borobudur Hotel, See the Complete Schedule
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) RI has scheduled the Isbat Session to determine the beginning of Ramadan 1447 H/2026 M today, Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Unlike the previous plan which will be held at the M. Rasjidi Auditorium, the Office of the Ministry of Religion, the location of the Isbat Session this time has been moved to the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta. This forum is a crucial moment for the government, ulama, and experts to determine when the fasting this year will start nationally.
Schedule and Series of Events for the 2026 Isbat Session
The implementation of the Isbat Session will be divided into three main stages that combine science and sharia data:
16.30 WIB: Seminar posisi hilal oleh pakar astronomi dan ahli falak (Terbuka untuk umum/media). 18.30 WIB: Sidang Isbat penetapan 1 Ramadan 1447 H (Dilaksanakan secara tertutup). 19.05 WIB: Konferensi pers hasil Sidang Isbat yang mengumumkan tanggal resmi awal puasa (Disiarkan langsung).Synergy between Government, Ulama, and Scientists
Director of Islamic Religious Affairs and Bina Syariah at the Ministry of Religion, Arsad Hidayat, explained that the Isbat Session is a form of synergy to ensure the initial determination of Ramadan is accurate both scientifically and syar'i.
"The Isbat trial is a joint forum to verify the data of the calculation and the results of the rukyat before the government determines the beginning of Ramadan," said Arsad. He emphasized that the Ministry of Religion was committed to maintaining transparency so that the results of the decision could become a strong guideline for all Muslims in Indonesia.
This trial was also attended by various important elements, including:
Ambassadors of friendly countries and Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives. Representatives of the Supreme Court and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
