Police Ensure Victims of Back-to-Back Collisions in Cidaun Continue to Improve
Cianjur - The Cianjur Police, West Java, confirmed that seven victims of a series of accidents on the Cidaun-Sindangbarang Highway were gradually improving after receiving medical treatment at the local puskesmas.
Cidaun Police Chief AKP Ogin Ginanjar when contacted on Wednesday, said the consecutive collision involving one car unit and four motorbikes started when the driver crossed Jalan Raya Cidaun, precisely in Babakan Village, Cidamar Village, on Monday (16/2).
"Currently we are still investigating the case of a series of collisions involving a number of vehicles on the Cidaun-Cianjur Highway which caused seven people to be injured, of which three were women," he said.
The driver of the car with the Cirebon BS license plate (35) was allegedly sleepy so that he could not control the speed of the vehicle and immediately hit four motorcyclists who were stopping on the side of the road until they were thrown several meters away with their bodies full of wounds.
"The victim was immediately taken to the nearest health center because he had a serious injury, but at this time most of his condition continues to improve and the driver was secured at the Cidaun Police who had been handed over to the Gakkum Unit of the Cianjur Police," he said.
The development of the current collision case is still ongoing, where a number of witnesses have been questioned, including the driver who is suspected of being sleepy and unable to control the speed of the vehicle when passing through the location so that he hit a number of motorcyclists.
"The driver has been secured and is still undergoing an examination, we appeal to motorists who pass along the southern Cianjur route to increase caution and vigilance because the long straight road requires concentration," he said.
He explained that entering the fasting month, the volume of vehicles passing along the southern Cianjur route increased with the goal of beach attractions, so that a number of officers were alerted at vulnerable points such as Jayanti Beach, Katangpotong and Cidamar.
As extreme weather still hit the southern coastal area, his party asked the public, especially tourists, not to approach the beach and swim because high waves can occur at any time, especially when it rains heavily accompanied by strong winds.
"We also intensify patrols to a number of beaches to appeal and anticipate undesirable things as the number of visits increases," he said.
