453 Joint Personnel Secure Chinese New Year in 42 Vihara in Jakbar

JAKARTA - A total of 453 joint personnel secured the Chinese New Year celebration at 42 viharas in the West Jakarta area on Tuesday.

"West Jakarta Metro Police together with the TNI and related institutions such as Satpol PP and the Fire Service have deployed a total of 453 joint personnel to secure 42 monasteries," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi when confirmed in Jakarta.

Twedi said that to anticipate the density of traffic flow, his party had placed personnel at a number of intersections and points prone to congestion.

"But no special traffic engineering is carried out so as not to cause new congestion, considering that at several key points there are also projects and festival activities," he said.

In addition to deploying personnel, Twedi also directly reviewed the implementation of Chinese New Year at a number of monasteries on Monday (16/2), such as Dharma Bhakti Tamansari Monastery, Toa Se Bio Tamansari Monastery, Pusdiklat Maitreya Monastery, and Ekayana Kebon Jeruk Monastery.

During the visit, Twedi held a dialogue with the temple's administrators and monitored the activities of the people who had arrived since noon to perform prayers.

He said, the West Jakarta Metro Police would still implement the same security pattern as the previous year, by prioritizing synergy with the TNI and related institutions.
