South Jakarta Metro Police Secure Two Vihars During Chinese New Year Celebrations, 155 Personnel Deployed

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police carried out tight security at two monasteries during the Chinese New Year celebration to ensure that all worship services take place safely and comfortably.

Head of Operations of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Tribuana Roseno, said the security point was focused on Vihara Bio Hok Tek Tjen Sin, Kebayoran Lama, and Vihara Amurva Bhumi, Setiabudi.

"Security is carried out in a coordinated manner with the TNI, the South Jakarta City Government, Satpol PP, the Transportation Service, and other related agencies," said Tribuana in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He explained that the joint personnel were deployed to carry out open and closed security, sterilization of worship areas, traffic flow management, to dialogic patrols to anticipate potential disturbances of public security and order.

In addition, the Transportation Office carried out traffic engineering and parking arrangements around the temple site. Satpol PP also helped monitor public order during the event.

Not only security at places of worship, the South Jakarta Metro Police also intensified patrols and monitoring at a number of crowded points to ensure that the situation remains under control during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

This security, continued Tribuana, is part of the commitment of the National Police in maintaining tolerance and harmony among religious people, as well as ensuring that every citizen can carry out worship and celebrate religious holidays safely and diligently.

Meanwhile, the Polda Metro Jaya added 155 personnel to strengthen supervision during the series of celebrations.

With cross-sector synergy and community participation, it is hoped that the celebration of the Chinese New Year in the South Jakarta area will be safe, orderly, and conducive.
