Xiaomi Shows Off 200W HyperCharge Fast Charging
JAKARTA - Xiaomi showed off the capabilities of its newest charging adapter, which can do fast charging up to 200W. As a result, charging the cellphone battery from 0 to 100 percent only takes 8 minutes.
Launching GSM Arena, Xiaomi's HyperCharge capability has been provided on the Mi 10 Ultra phone. This feature is also planned to be embedded in the Mi 11 Pro which has a 5,000 mAh battery capacity.
In addition to fast charging via cable, Xiaomi also promises an equally fast wireless charging feature. The HyperCharge 200W adapter can charge wirelessly at 120W in 15 minutes.

In the one minute and eleven second video, Xiaomi conducted a series of tests using a custom Mi 11 Pro phone that was equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery. As a result, Xiaomi phones managed to set a new record in charging from 0 to 100 percent.
The HyperCharger 200W takes just 44 seconds to charge the battery from 0 to 10 percent, followed by 50 percent in 3 minutes and finally a full 100 percent charge in just 8 minutes. The meter shows the actual wattage that goes into the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro in real-time. While the power fluctuates between 15W and 198W.
Keep in mind that this test was carried out using a customized phone, so the results would be different from other phones on the market. However, Xiaomi is confident enough to market the new charger adapter with the 200W HyperCharge capability.
Moreover, the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) group has just announced a new upgrade for USB Type-C cable and connector types. In this case, the USB Type-C cable will be able to deliver up to 240W of power.
