Polda Metro Secure Youth Suspected of Carrying a Sajam

JAKARTA - The Anti-Interference Task Force of the Metro Jaya Police and the East Jakarta Metro Police have secured five young people who were caught carrying sharp weapons. Those suspected of being involved in the brawl were arrested in the Ciracas area, East Jakarta (Jaktim), Monday morning.

The commander of the Brimob Unit (Dansat) of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, explained that the five young people were secured when the 2026 Anti-Interference Operation Task Force Team from Brimob Metro Jaya Police together with the East Jakarta Metro Police held a routine patrol.

"When conducting an inspection of a group of young people who were gathering, officers found four sharp blades that were suspected of being used for violent or brawl actions. The five were then secured for further investigation," said Henik in Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA on Monday, February 16.

He said the patrol was part of the commitment to maintain regional security stability through the Metro Jaya Police Chief program entitled Jaga Jakarta.

"Our patrols are carried out routinely and measured as a preventive measure so that the potential for kamtibmas (public security and order) disturbances can be prevented early on," said Henik.

He also appealed to the public to play an active role in maintaining neighborhood security. Residents are asked to use the 110 Call Center service, which is on standby 24 hours a day, to report potential kamtibmas disturbances.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said that although the 2026 Operation Pekat Jaya activities were declared complete, preventive, preventive, and repressive efforts were still being carried out by the Metro Jaya Police.

One of them is the formation of the Anti-Interference Task Force by the Metro Jaya Police Chief. The task force is ensured to continue to work, without time limits.

Polda Metro Jaya is committed to making the DKI Jakarta region safe and zero/no rioting through the implementation of law enforcement and preventive and repressive efforts that are firm and measurable, by prioritizing a humanistic approach.

"We pay special attention to this phenomenon of fights and street violence, which has a negative impact on safety conditions, the future of children and adolescents," said Budi.
