DKI Provincial Government Bans SOTR and Ormas Sweeping During Ramadan, Be Prepared to Be Punished If They Violate

JAKARTA - The Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, confirmed that the DKI Provincial Government banned the sahur on the road (SOTR) during Ramadan 2026. Because, this activity is prone to causing commotion.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government also prohibits community organizations (ormas) from carrying out unilateral enforcement or sweeping against restaurants during the fasting month. This step is taken to maintain public security and order.

"We urge the public not to carry out sahur on the road. And, don't let community organizations sweep at locations," Satriadi told reporters, Monday, February 16.

Satriadi ensured that if there were still students or certain groups who continued to hold SOTR, Satpol PP would immediately carry out discipline in the field. This is also in line with the instructions of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung.

"We will definitely enforce it. We will ban it," he said.

Satriadi said that a total of 1,900 joint personnel were deployed for routine patrols every night during Ramadan in the DKI Jakarta area. This patrol is carried out to maintain public order and security during evening activities during the fasting month.

Satriadi explained that the figure of 1,900 did not only come from Satpol PP. Security was carried out in a coordinated manner with the TNI and Polri elements in the Three Pillars scheme.

The number and composition of joint personnel in each region are adjusted to the needs and conditions in the field, as well as the potential vulnerability in each region through multi-level coordination to the sub-district and village levels.

"Each region carries out coordination with the Polsek, with all levels with Koramil and Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas, all the camats also carry out patrols," said Satriadi.

In addition to activities that have the potential to disrupt security and order, Satpol PP also intensified liquor raids (miras) during Ramadan 2026.

According to Satriadi, the sale of liquor legally must have a permit through the OSS (online single submission) system. If there is a violation, the business place will also be revoked with the action of Satpol PP in the field.

"Currently, we have also started, conducting operations in conjunction with the TNI and the National Police. Well, then for security or enforcement of alcoholic beverages, yes, as long as there is no permit, we will, we will do it to a place that does not have the appropriate permit," he said.
