1.900 Joint Patrol Personnel Every Day During Ramadan in Jakarta
JAKARTA - A total of 1,900 joint personnel were deployed for routine patrols every night during Ramadan in the DKI Jakarta area. Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Satriadi Gunawan said that this patrol was carried out to maintain public order and security during evening activities during the fasting month.
"Every day there are 1,900 regular patrol personnel, every night, in all areas. Our command center always reports, there are security patrols. We definitely do it routinely," Satriadi told reporters, Monday, February 16.
Satriadi explained that the figure of 1,900 did not only come from Satpol PP. Security was carried out in a coordinated manner with the TNI and Polri elements in the Three Pillars scheme.
The number and composition of joint personnel in each region are adjusted to the needs and conditions in the field, as well as the potential vulnerability in each region through multi-level coordination to the sub-district and village levels.
"Each region carries out coordination with the Polsek, with all levels with Koramil and Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas, all the camats also carry out patrols," said Satriadi.
Night patrols during Ramadan are usually focused on crowded points, such as ngabuburit locations, takjil markets, to residential areas that have the potential for disturbances in order such as sahur on the road (SOTR).
"Sahur on the road is also we urge the public not to carry it out. Well that's us. And don't let community organizations do sweeping like that," he said.
During the month of Ramadan, the DKI Satpol PP also increased the intensity of supervision and discipline at business places that sell illegal alcoholic beverages (miras) in Jakarta.
"We have started, conducting operations in conjunction with the TNI and the National Police. Well, then for security or enforcement of alcoholic beverages, yes as long as there is no permit, we will, we will do it to a place that does not have the right to do it," said Satriadi.
