4 Dead, Israel Again Claims to Target Militants Attacking Lebanon

Lebanon said Israeli air raids on Sunday near its border with Syria in the east killed four people.

Citing AFP, Monday, February 16, Israel argued that the attack that claimed human lives targeted members of the Palestinian militant group, Islamic Jihad.

The attack comes amid Israel and Hezbollah agreeing to a ceasefire since November 2024.

Israel has carried out regular raids into Lebanon since the ceasefire and has continued to justify targeting militants.

This attack is the first attack claimed by Israel in Lebanon against Islamic Jihad.

Lebanon's state-run National News Agency earlier said Israeli drones "targeted a car on the Lebanese-Syrian border. It was also said that "four bodies" were inside the vehicle.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has confirmed the number of victims.

The Israeli military said in a statement that the attack "targeted Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists in the Majdal Anjar area."
