Floods in Central Java's Grobogan, disrupted the journey of the North Line train

JAKARTA - The journey of a number of trains on the northern line of Central Java was disrupted due to flooding that submerged two bridges between Gubug - Tegowanu - Brumbung Stations in the Grobogan Regency area, Central Java, Monday, February 16.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Luqman Arif said that the operating pattern of a number of trains had to be rotated through the Brumbung - Gundih - Gambringan line.

He explained that the track was temporarily closed from 04.35 WIB because the waterlogged had closed the track.

"To ensure the safety of the journey, the route was temporarily closed," Luqman said in a press statement quoted by Antara.

Two bridges that were flooded, he continued, were Bridge 46 in the road section between Tegowanu Station - Brumbung Station and Bridge 59 in the section between Gubug Station - Tegowanu Station.

The three trains whose journeys were rotated include the Gumarang train between Jakarta and Surabaya, the Jayabaya train between Jakarta and Malang, and the Harina train between Bandung and Surabaya.

He said that officers were still monitoring the development of the flooded railway line so that the latest information could continue to be conveyed.

He added that PT KAI apologized for the inconvenience experienced by passengers due to the disruption of the journey.

The rain that has been pouring over Grobogan Regency since Sunday, February 15, evening until Monday, February 16, early morning, caused flooding in various areas in the district.
