Vitor Pereira Officially Becomes New Coach of Nottingham Forest
JAKARTA - Nottingham Forest officially appointed Vitor Pereira as the new head coach with a short-term contract.
"We are pleased to confirm that Vitor Pereira has been appointed as head coach with an 18-month contract," the club said in a statement on their official website on Sunday.
The Midlands club's announcement came shortly after sacking Sean Dyche.
Forest ended its partnership with Dyche on Thursday (15/2) early morning local time, following a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 26th week of the English League.
Pereira's appointment makes him Nottingham Forest's fourth coach this season.
Previously, the club had previously parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and most recently Sean Dyche throughout the season.
The Portuguese coach previously managed Wolves. However, he was sacked in November 2025 when the club was at the bottom of the table and had not won a single victory.
However, Pereira has an important record with Wolves in the previous season. He managed to save the team from relegation after taking over when the club was in 19th place with only nine points from 16 games.
A big win over Tottenham Hotspur and two wins over Manchester United were crucial factors in Wolves' success in staying in the English League.
In fact, Wolves recorded the most goals in a single English League season under his direction.
Forest management hopes that Pereira's experience and track record can bring stability and improve the team's performance for the rest of the season.
