Israel Again Conducts Air Strikes on Southern Lebanon
JAKARTA - Israeli air force planes launched a series of attacks on several areas of southern Lebanon on Saturday night, a source in the Lebanese military told RIA Novosti.
"Last night, Israeli warplanes launched a series of devastating attacks using heavy missiles ... [a number of areas] in southern Lebanon," the source said.
"It is recorded that 14 attacks were launched gradually to mountainous areas and near residential areas," he said.
Lebanon's national news agency NNA reported a number of new Israeli attacks on the country.
The Israeli military released a statement on its Arabic-language digital platform stating that the infrastructure facilities of the Hezbollah group in southern Lebanon had been attacked.
At the end of August 2025, the Lebanese government tasked the military with monopolizing weapons by the end of 2025.
As part of the decision, the military began deploying expanded forces in the south, eliminating Hezbollah's arsenal and tunnels in accordance with the ceasefire agreement with Israel reached on November 27, 2024.
However, Israel continues to attack Lebanese territory and threatens to carry out a massive attack if Lebanon fails to comply with its commitments.
