Chinese Consul Participates in Chinese New Year Celebration at Sam Poo Kong Temple in Semarang
JAKARTA - The Consulate General (Consul) of China in Surabaya, East Java, took part in the Chinese New Year celebration entitled "Imlek Vaganza Harmoni Nusantara" at the Sam Poo Kong Temple, Semarang, Central Java.
The Chinese Consul in Surabaya Mr. Ye Sudi Semarang, Sunday, noticed how much the Indonesian people love the Chinese New Year celebration.
According to him, this love is shown by the lively celebration of Chinese New Year in various regions in Indonesia, including at the Sam Poo Kong Temple, Semarang.
He said that currently the celebration of Chinese New Year has also reached the level of the state, which shows high religious tolerance. In the future, he hopes that the Chinese New Year celebration can become a symbol to continue to encourage better bilateral relations in the country.
In addition to visiting the Sam Poo Kong Temple, Ye Su also plans to visit three bilingual schools and visit Chinese communities in Semarang.
At the event, the Chinese Consulate in Surabaya also provided face-to-face consular services, protection, and document management. In addition to sharing various souvenirs, such as dolls, T-shirts, and pins, to visitors who successfully answered a number of questions.
What's interesting is that Consul General Ye Su had the opportunity to write the Chinese character Fu, which symbolizes good luck, good fortune, happiness, and blessings to be shared with lucky visitors.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Sam Poo Kong Mulyadi Setiakusuma Foundation thanked the Chinese Consul for being present to enliven Chinese New Year.
"This is a form of cooperation. So, sharing is a good thing. The important thing is not judged by the amount or cost. But from the good intentions of this cooperation for the people of Indonesia," he said.
Bahkania also invited Chinese companies in Kendal and Batang to provide CSR (Corporate Social Responsbility) for the people of Semarang City.
To enliven the "Imlek Vaganza Harmoni Nusantara" at the Sam Poo Kong Temple, his party will provide free tickets for visitors starting at 18.00 WIB.
"Later, starting at 6 p.m. (18.00 WIB) it is free and we will bring artists, there is Krisdayanti, Clarissa Dewi, and there is also a barongsai with 1000 LEDs that only perform once a year," said Mulyadi Setia Kusuma.
