Partnering with Gibran in 2029, Prabowo has the potential to be left behind by 3 supporting parties
JAKARTA - IPO Executive Director, Dedi Kurnia Syah, suspects that the reason why the Democratic Party, PKS, and Golkar Party are not in a hurry to declare their support for Prabowo Subianto to serve two terms is because they want to see Prabowo's companion's name in the 2029 presidential election.
"Especially, seeing the possibility of Prabowo with Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the 2029 Vice President. It seems that the Democrats, PKS and Golkar are still looking at whether there is still a tendency for Prabowo with Gibran or not," he said, Sunday, February 15.
According to him, the Democrats, PKS, and Golkar could not be with Prabowo if the Chairman of the Gerindra Party paired up with Gibran again in the 2029 presidential election. "If Gibran is still with Prabowo, there is a chance that these political parties will have other options," he continued.
However, Dedi sees the opportunity for Gibran to return to Prabowo in the 2029 presidential election as still wide open. Moreover, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), will take care of the 2029 contest so that his son, Gibran, can accompany Prabowo.
"The opportunity for Gibran to run again with Prabowo still exists. Moreover, Jokowi seems to still be in their circle and very interventional," he said.
Previously, three parties in the parliament supporting the government had bluntly encouraged Prabowo to serve as President of the Republic of Indonesia for two terms. However, some of them chose to focus on helping to complete the work period and have not expressed support for Prabowo.
The parties that openly support Prabowo serving two terms as President of the Republic of Indonesia are PAN, PKB, and Gerindra. Meanwhile, parties such as Golkar, Democrat, and PKS have not openly expressed support for Prabowo serving two terms. Golkar, Democrat, and PKS choose to focus on helping Prabowo complete his work until 2029, rather than talking about practical politics.
